A great resource find that help the students to assimilate back into the routine of school. The students made connections to what they read and the variation in tasks offered the students the chance to be themselves in their new learning role in a new classroom. I like how it has a week's worth of ideas that can easily be selected from to match the learning needs of the students. I have truly enjoyed many of my purchases from jivey. Anything by Ideas by Jivey is phenomenal. I have used her mentor sentences with 2nd grade and 4th grade. My students love to dissect the sentence apart. :)
I love starting the ELA classes with a short vivid vocabulary or mentor sentence lesson. I used this book as an introduction to the lessons because it’s a funny story that the students enjoy!
