George Washington’s Socks
Thought Provoking Activities

This unit does not include chapter questions. The activities in this unit are meant to make the students go deeper in understanding and thinking about the story.

Students will use the book, George Washington’s Socks by Elvira Woodruff, to predict, create chapter titles, analyze characters through trait recognition and comparision to themselves, character conflicts, find factual information in historical fiction, write an opinion piece, plot the story on a graphic organizer, determine the meanings of idioms and similes, use a primary source- a map of Trenton, and visualize.

Please look at the preview file to see the activities included.
