By request, I have pulled the Enemy Pie lessons from Volume 1 for those who love using mentor sentences and mentor texts and wanted to add just this one lesson to their rotation. PLEASE do not purchase this if you already own all of the Volume 1 sets! (If you do, you already own all of these activities!)
In this pack, you will receive a mentor sentence lesson for the book. You will also receive an interactive notebook activity to review/teach adjectives. There are seven reading and writing ideas suggested, and three activities with answer keys provided to use during reading time (summarizing, and using text evidence for theme and character traits). There is also one writing prompt given. Finally, *newly added* you will also have contextual vocabulary activities to use with the book!

Easy-to-Use Resource for Homeschool Grammar and Writing Practice
This was a great, easy-to-use resource for our homeschool. My 4th grader enjoyed the activities and they were just the right amount to give him a dose of a lesson without learning feeling overwhelming or too time consuming. I would like to see the main grammar lessons explained a little more for the parent to use with their child so the units can serve as more of as a main learning source than a supplement, but otherwise I thought it was well organized and had enough variety to gve the child practice and keep them engaged. Love that all of the lessons were directly tied into the literature.

I enjoy using picture book mentor texts to text various grammar skills. The kids really enjoy this book and activities.

This resource had tons of things to pull from so you can pick and choose what works for your students. I really liked how not all of the pages said "enemy pie" on them so you could easily use them with other books if you wanted to.

I love how this resource accompanies one of the best books for the beginning of the year. It was good to use to start to review the parts of speech from the previous grades.
Although my students who are working on syntax and grammar benefited from the vocabulary tasks related to verbs, I would have liked to see some other diverse vocabulary to interact with as well.
I used it at back to school time and it went very well.
This really elevated the conversation about Enemy Pie and encouraged students to think more critically about a story that they have heard many times before.
