Feeling the Love Five For Friday Flashback! :)

Happy Friday! Time to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching and Teaching Maddeness!

Unfortunately, I got the crud (probably from one of my little angels…) and was sick all weekend… my honey got me these lovelies:

…and I was still sick on Monday, so I missed the first day of Teacher Appreciation Week with my kiddos.
*sad*
But I returned Tuesday to the biggest bouquet of flowers ever! 🙂 Yes, they are in a beach pail! 😛

Oh yes. YES YES YES. I was able to get Justin Timberlake pre-sale tickets for myself and the LOVELY Brittany from Closing the Gap…In a Cute Outfit… and not just any ol’ seats. FLOOR SEATS!! What what?!??! We are gonna dance and scream like teenage girls. AWESOMENESS.

Wednesday was our Field Day and although my class is not the most athletic bunch… we still had a blast! AND…. get ready…. we were Tug Of War Champions!!! I don’t have any pictures because A, I was shouting and encouraging my kids to pull hard, and B, MY CAMERA DIED!!!!!! Ugh. I can’t even begin to describe my dismay. 🙁

Did your heart just go pitter-patter?

First of all, everyone knows there is NOTHING better than getting fun mail… ESPECIALLY packages!!! But a package filled with awesome school supplies?!? Every teacher’s DREAM!!!! My sweetest of the sweet BBBs: Joanne from Head Over Heels For Teaching, sent me this fabulousness! And apparently, she is an EXPERT packer!! There are so many awesome things in this box of loot, but I’d say the best of it all are the paper clips in the shape of HIGH HEELS!!! So of course, now every time I use one I will think of her. 🙂

Joanne is just one of the reasons why blogging has been so rewarding- when I started, I never had any idea I would form the relationships I have formed! Honestly, teachers are awesome, but teacher bloggers are the BEST! Who would have thought you could form such bonds over hundreds, sometimes thousands, of miles away!? Although technology is the bane of my existence sometimes, in this case, I couldn’t imagine my life without it!

I know we aren’t supposed to have favorites. I love each and every one of my children. I do. But let me tell you- I have never felt more rewarded to have this job by any child than I have this year. A student came to me in September and knew NO English. NONE. Her family speaks only Spanish and is not learning English, so there is no one to help her at home. But this girl is so smart and so EAGER to learn… she has actually SURPASSED some of my ESOL students who have been here since Kindergarten. She just soaks it in like a sponge, I’m telling you!!! This is her letter she gave to me yesterday. It made me tear up a bit, I’m not gonna lie.
I hope that you all were cherished and loved and appreciated this week! You all deserve it!
THANK YOU for being wonderful friends, mentors, partners, and collaborators – I certainly appreciate all of you!! 🙂
