Tried It Tuesday: Donors Choose Update!

I am SOOOO excited to link up with my BBB Holly for another Tried It Tuesday because I have some SUPER EXCITING NEWS!!!!!
That's right!! My project was FUNDED!! So in just a few weeks, we will be starting our first extended text study with one of my sets of books that is on its way:
My kids are going to freak out when they find out they all get to have their own copy during our study! They are used to just listening, and they check out every copy from the library they can find and try to fit 5 on a book to read. :-P I am so excited because they will truly be able to analyze parts of the text since they will have it in front of them... and perhaps YOU should be excited because you know there will be a Sign of the Beaver Unit being created, too! :o)

I am also receiving class sets of Who Is (Was) Neil Armstrong? and Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe!

I use Collaboration Cuties' Unit for Neil, and Where the Wild Things Learn's Unit for Narnia! :) My kiddos last year loved these units, so I know they will love them even more this year HOLDING the books in their hands! (Can you tell I'm super-pumped??)

Thank you soooo much to my friends and followers who donated to support my project! Y'all rock!!

  1. I'm so happy that your project was funded! I have used The Sign of the Beaver in the past and my students LOVED it after we studied the history to go along with it. Unfortunately, the social studies part changed so it doesn't fit as well anymore :( Major bummer! But there is a Hallmark movie when you finish the book -- my students always want to watch the movie too and it's a Hallmark one so they've never seen it!!! The movie is called Keeping the Promise. I think it's free if you have Amazon Prime account ;)

  2. Those are great books! My class is tickled having a book in front of them. :) Congrats!!

  3. Yeah girl! Congrats. Isn't just the best feeling when something gets funded! I need to do my Thank Yous so I can get another project going!

  4. This is so awesome!! I am so happy for you! I agree that the students need their own copy in front of them. We are lucky to have county cooperative services where we have access to order multiple copies of many texts. I am limited to what they have though. Thanks for linking up and congratulations!!!!

  5. Congrats! That is very cool! How long did the total process last for? I've had teachers in my building want to try it, but they've been reluctant. I'll be sharing this with them.

  6. Awesome! The Sign of the Beaver is a GREAT book! I also love The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe! When I taught 4th, we did a book study on it. At the end we always watched the movie and enjoyed hot chocolate and marshmallows!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Please, leave me some love! :)
