Tried It Tuesday: Amazon Prime

Thanks to my Workshop Wednesday linky and the Mentor Texts linky by Collaboration Cuties... my "need" to purchase books has grown exponentially! So I have decided to try Amazon Prime!
I absolutely adore books anyway, but being able to get them two days after I order them....? Um, YES PLEASE!!!
I ordered these books on Saturday, and when I got home yesterday, there was my smiley box from Amazon! I can't wait to share with you how I'm using them! :o) We are about to start Persuasive/Opinion Writing and we'll be using The Day the Crayons Quit to start it! It will be a good change from the books I always use (not that those aren't good)!

Speaking of writing.... don't forget to come back tomorrow and link up with Workshop Wednesday!
We are sharing: Getting Workshop Started in the Classroom! Share about reading, writing, or math workshops!

  1. You are book crazy :) Amazon Prime is perfect for you and your little obsession! Can't wait to hear how you use The Day the Crayons Quit.

  2. I have gone back and forth about whether or not I wanted to do Amazon Prime. I don't know why I drag my feet. It's really not THAT much money when I think about how much I spend on shipping if I don't order at least $25.

  3. Don't know if you have a university email address (maybe you are taking a class), but if you have an email that ends ".edu", you get a huge discount on Prime. I signed up this summer (I think I got in on a "free" promotion for college students) and while it is so incredibly awesome to get everything in two days, I have spent WAY more that I hoped to on Amazon this summer (as my husband so kindly reminded me when the charge bill came... :)

Oh well....A girl loves her books!

  4. I have had Prime for a while- can't beat it!!!!

  5. I love Amazon Prime. The two day shipping is the best thing ever! (Although I don't think it is good for my bank account!)

  6. Love Prime- couldn't live without it. We buy EVERYTHING on there. Also, be sure to check out the Prime Instant Videos- similar to Netflix streaming. I've wasted a few good hours catching up on some oldie- TV shows... Clarissa Explains It All... Doug...

  7. I LOVE Prime and think I may have to renew mine soon. I got it for free for a year when I was doing grad school, but then I let it expire. Right now Steven has it for free, and when his time is up, I'm renewing mine. Plus there's so many great movies/tv shows that you can watch for free ("All That" episodes - what?!) and a few great books to check out for my Kindle!

  8. How funny! I joined Amazon Prime for that same reason! Those mentor texts get me every time!

  9. I love Amazon Prime!! It's awesome!

  10. I LOVE "The Day the Crayons Quit"!! I recently just got Amazon Prime...I am in trouble now!

  11. The crayons sounds fun and interesting - I totally get what you mean by a change from the typical ones! ;) Would you possibly make a list of your top 20 mentor texts? I want to build my mentor text library, but struggle with where to start. Thank you!

  12. I am addicted to Amazon!! They charged me for Prime after I had it for a free trial and I didn't even realize they were doing it. I almost cancelled it when I found out, but then I remembered how much free shipping I get and in two days!! Now, I know that they offer movies and TV shows for free streaming to your TV too!! It is awesome!

  13. Can't wait to see what you do with Crayons! Not sure if you know, but prime members can sign up to 4 additional family members (living elsewhere too) to receive the free prime shipping. They do not get the other perks (including the instant video), but a really nice perk. I also order all of my staple type grocery items through subscribe and save. Free shipping there as well. Most times Amazon beats the big box stores for pricing, and it is delivered to your door every month(or two) for free. I dropped Netflix in favor of prime instant as well, which more than covers the $79.00 fee per year.

Oh yes, and of course the books!

  14. I love Amazon Prime. I love the free two day shipping--who wouldn't? But I also love the instant videos. Our district's filter system blocks YouTube, but not amazon so I can stream the videos on my SmartBoard.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Please, leave me some love! :)
