Back In The Day... And... Announcement!!

Hey y'all! First, I want to apologize for not being a good blog-commenter lately. I have been so swamped, and have managed to do some reading when I can, but just haven't commented. I am so sorry! Don't disown me. :-P I've just been a tiny bit busy. ;-)

I wanted to quickly post something I'm doing new this year as a "back to school" thing... Thanks to Jess at I {heart} Recess and her Time Travel Tuesday, I started looking for other things my mom saved for me from when I was in 4th grade. I could not find where I put a WHOLE ENVELOPE full of writing that my mom saved (which is still bugging me, because I know I had it when I moved into this house last year...) but I did manage to find my 4th Grade Memories Book! I made a display on my bulletin board for my kids to see not only me and my class, but how I wrote in 4th grade and the things I liked. :)  I photo-copied the book pages, and I even found MY copy of Charlotte's Web from when I was little!!
Hopefully, my kids will get a kick out of seeing me when I was their age! :)

There will be an August Deal coming in my TPT followers' inboxes very soon! Be on the lookout for it! I sent it this morning, and TPT promises to send your messages within 48 hours of you submitting them... so if you aren't already a follower, you might be able to get in on the deal if you hurry over and become one! (No promises though, because I have no idea of the time frame the message will actually be sent.)

Also, don't forget to head over to my Facebook page and enter today's giveaway!! We're halfway through the 8 days of giveaways!

  9. That's so great that you have things from when you were in 4th grade...your kids will LOVE it! One of the teachers I worked with a couple of years ago had put together a scrapbook that she wrote like a story book. In it she had lots of pictures from when she was young, and her students loved reading it :) I wanted to make my own, and your post reminded me...another thing to add to the 'to do' list :)

  10. Oh man, Saved By the Bell! LOVE! I have one of my report cards and my yearbook from Third Grade that I put out for my kids each year, but I don't have any actual work samples. Maybe I'll have to bug my mom to see if she can find some.

  13. I love sharing my childhood photos of myself with my class- they love it! Your fourth graders will love it! I like how you still have your class photo and writing samples!

  14. I love that you made a place for your kids to see what 4th grade was like for you. They will really be able to relate to you better and realize that you were once a them. It always amazes me when kids find out we are human too and don't actually have a bed hidden in the wall. I have a box of my elementary school stuff too. I should drag it out!
