Tunes Tuesday - Ideas By Jivey: For the Classroom

Tunes Tuesday

I'm so excited to see all the link ups for ideas to integrate music into grammar!! Nick came up with a great idea! :)

I chose the song, "Home" by Phillip Phillips. I went through a few different options, but sadly, things kept coming up in the lyrics of the ones I chose that would make me go, "ooooooh never mind."

Here is the video- but click HERE for the Safeshare link! (I hope you know about! It's an awesome site- paste the link to a youtube video and it removes all ads, and it also removes the thumbnails of related videos that are usually way inappropriate as well as the comments! It's a lifesaver!)

I thought this song was perfect to search for contractions!

Now I know I'm cheating a little bit, but I am also guest blogging today over at my BBB Christy's blog, Teaching Tales Along the Yellow Brick Road! Please head over (and become a follower of Christy's if you aren't already!!) and check out a fun Tried It Tuesday!

  4. Thank you for the resource. I love incorporating music into my lessons. Also, I did not know about Safeshare. I will definitely use that in the future. I appreciate the tip!

  5. Linking educational concepts to music is a GREAT way to connect with students, no doubt about it. (I LOVE all the link ups out there, too!) For the upper elementary students I teach, the "hotter" the song, the better! Tie-ins to American Idol are a big plus, too! :) ~Deb
