Must Have Monday, Monday Made-It, and something BIG is coming!!! - Ideas By Jivey: For the Classroom

Must Have Monday, Monday Made-It, and something BIG is coming!!!

Oh my gosh. I have a new obsession. Actually I have two. I finally know what I've been missing out on, and I'm so sad I didn't jump on the bandwagon sooner!!!

What am I talking about??? Well here's proof of them BOTH:
My personal laminator and INSTAGRAM! I went through an entire pack of lamination pouches already, and Instagram is way too much fun! There's a button now up there at the top of my blog to follow me, or just add me manually: @ideasbyjivey!
I have to link the personal laminator up with Must-Have Monday with my girl Sabra at Teaching With a Touch of Twang because really... if you don't have one, I promise, you NEED one. I got mine for $25 at Target. The lamination is WAY thicker and you don't have to stand in a hot room with that big ol' laminator at school... and lemme tell ya, if your school is like mine, the first week we're back, there is a line out the door. And then the daggum laminator breaks. Wellllllll no worries for me! I can do it while I sit in front of the TV at home. AT NIGHT. In my PJs!!

Next, it's time to show off the things I've made for Monday Made-It with Tara!
Thanks to Instagram and my going back to school in two days ((sob)), I've been a creating fool! I still have some projects that I'm working on, so I'm excited to report that I'll be linking up with Tara TWO WEEKS IN A ROW! Whaaaaaat?!?!?! :-P  Sorry these aren't the most exciting projects- my others next week will be WAY better I promise!
After all the laminating, what comes next? Cutting!! I now have all my place value unit games/stations created (which is my first math unit that I teach). Aaaaand school threw up all over my coffee table. :) If you're interested in the games I created- most pictured in the image above, here are the links:

This was a project I pinned last year and never got around to making. My teacher friend, Stephanie, said they worked for her last year, so I did it too! Hot glue a pom-pom on the top of a dry-erase marker, and there's your eraser! Yay!

I also finished up my first interactive notebook product this weekend- it's for the Causes of the American Revolution! It's on sale today for 20% off! :)

I'll definitely be back next week with some more fun things I'm working on... but before I leave, I have to let you know, if you aren't a follower of mine on Facebook, you're going to want to be one!

  1. When I bought my laminator, I felt like I had officially become a teacher! It is so addicting. Love mine too!

  5. I don't have to tell you about my laminator love--we've already shared that over on our other obsession-instagram! Ha!

  8. Wow! Laminating at home in comfy clothes is awful tempting! We've already been making plans to get into school and laminate before everyone else is back so it goes quicker!

  9. I love my laminator, so glad I got one this summer. When I was working at school last week I mentioned that I had a laminator and my administrator thought I was crazy for buying one...but I know better!

  11. Jivey! So cute! All of your stuff looks so great. And I was happy to see you on Instagram! YAY! Good luck setting up this week!

  12. Wow! You have been busy! I totally need to invest in a laminator....I went into school yesterday to laminate and the roll was already empty :(

  13. I've been addicted to my laminator for years! It's soooo much better than the laminator at school. There's nothing quite like laminating in the comfort of your own home, on your own time schedule. However, I don't want to even think about how much money I've spent on laminating pockets! Yikes!

  14. I bought a laminator a few weeks ago! I love it too! Those pom pom erasers are on my to do list too! :)

  15. I just bought the same laminator- Sam's Club has a pack of 200 laminating pouches for $20. :)

  16. I got a laminator today! Love! I have already used 37 8 1/2 X 11 pouches!

  17. LOL! "School threw up on your coffee table." I wonder if your custodian will come to your house to help you clean that up.

Don't feel bad! My coffee table looks like that too and has most of the summer.

I love my laminator! Best birthday present! I have heard Sam's has cheap laminating pouches. I am looking for a friend with a Sam's card, now.

  18. I just used my last laminating pouch (from a pack of 100) last night. :( Gonna need to go get some more I suppose.

Nothing better than laminating in the comfort of my own home, and like you said the lamination is so much thicker and sturdier feeling. Ah, the things teachers get excited about...

  19. At least your markers are done! I loved this project-easy & quick! You might need a 12 step program for that laminator! It's quite addicting!
Looking forward to the secret giveaway!

  20. I've been addicted to my laminator for a few years now. In fact we've got a "hot" date for later this evening. Thanks for mentioning me in your picture too. If I was teaching math this year, I know just the set of lessons I'd add to my centers :)

  21. I have been trying to hold off on getting a laminator for home but I just don't know if I can wait had me at in my PJs! =O)

  22. Love that we are laminating together in our PJs at night! I put my pom poms on the expo markers last week too! :) I can't believe you are back to school! Can't wait to hear how it goes :)

  23. I didn't leave my house for the first weekend I brought the laminator to my house. I watched a ton of Netflix and did a ton of printing, laminating, and cutting! Have fun!

  24. Oh, I need a laminator! We always run out of film at school, so I'm waiting a lot. Enjoy your last day before going back, and I can't wait to see your giveaways!
