Monday Made-It, Must-Haves, and Some BLOGLOVIN' Winners!!!! - Ideas By Jivey: For the Classroom

Monday Made-It, Must-Haves, and Some BLOGLOVIN' Winners!!!!

I am so excited to link up with Tara for Monday Made It today! I'm really not a huge "crafty" person, so every week, I read everyone's Monday posts, but don't always get a chance to link up because other than TPT stuff, I don't "make" a whole lot.

Anyway, Saturday, I went to my favorite store...
...which means trouble. Seriously. I can go in there and drop a couple hundred like <THAT>. But I just got paid and I was in the mood soooooo off I went. :-P I didn't really have a purpose, just wanted to walk around and see what I could get into (which is REAL trouble usually).

I immediately saw their ceramic stuff was 50% off, so I started looking there first. I saw some pieces I really liked and the light bulb went off! Top of my kitchen cabinets!!

A few of my friends have kitchen cabinets that don't go all the way to the ceiling, and they have really cute or neat decorative stuff on top of them. I've always admired the decor, but wasn't sure that I could ever pull it off because I've always said I just don't have an eye for putting that kind of thing together. (Of course, my mom says I always SAY THAT but it's not true because my house is decorated nicely... but then I remind her that most of the stuff in my house is FROM HER. Haha!!!)

I figured I wouldn't get them all decorated because I have quite a few and that could get expensive, but maybe I'd just do the bigger side for now and then slowly add. I ran over to the floral/greenery area and it was all 50% off too! I grabbed up what I liked... then continued my trek around the store and walked into a magical area: the 66-80% off section! WHAT??!?! I found so many more things in this area, it was unbelievable. They had more greenery that was marked way down too- some of the vines that would have been $20 were $4! I really wish I had taken a picture of my cart by the time I went to check out. Their carts are WAY too small if you ask me. It was laughable.

I was shocked- I got out spending LESS than $200 (remember, this is not normal) and I SAVED $127! Wow!!!!

So if you made it through my whole story, I know you want to see, right?? Here is the finished product!!
I absolutely adore my kitchen now. I really wish you could see it in person because these pictures just don't do it justice. It makes me so happy to walk in and see it. :)

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for..... the winners of my Bloglovin' Giveaway! Thanks so much to Amanda at Collaboration Cuties for putting this giveaway together. It was a HUGE success! I was so worried about my Google Followers number being obsolete, and I surpassed it- even surpassed 500 followers!!! So, welcome new followers, and thanks to my "old" followers for sticking around! :)

The GRAND PRIZE winner will receive Jivey's Big Box of Free Stuff in the mail (isn't it the BEST getting packages??), and any unit from my TPT store! Congrats, Angela!

Check out the picture below of all the "stuff" they are getting!! All of these things are definite MUST HAVES so I'm linking it up to Sabra's linky, too!

And my two other winners get to choose any unit from my TPT store- congratulations, Desiree and April!

In case you missed it yesterday...July will have a new Workshop Wednesday topic!
(Thank you AGAIN to Amanda for helping me in my brainstorm.) ;-)
July's Workshop Wednesday topic is:
TOOLS for preparation of our workshops!
This might be resource books you are reading this summer. It might be the way you set up your rotations. It might be the way you set up notebooks. Possibilities are endless really, but we want to focus on that "before the start" step of Workshop models rather than "the start" with students.

Just like June's Workshop Wednesday, you can link up any time in July! You can link up every week if you want... I will be posting every Wednesday, but you don't have to! Workshop Wednesday will return to its weekly routine in August!

I'm impressed (and envious) that you accomplish so many things... I have to stop pondering and just get up and do it!
Don't you love how creating or fixing (or sometimes cleaning!) something in a room just makes you HAPPY when you walk in? I love the combination of items you chose. Looking at that collection would make me happy to be in your kitchen too!

  6. LOVE your kitchen and LOVE Hobby Lobby! It's a good thing we live 30 minutes away from one, or my husband would kill me. I could spend hours in that place. :)

    Happy Monday!

  9. Hobby Lobby is dangerous! It is probably a good thing they are closed on Sundays. One less day for me to have to show will power. :) Your cabinets look great. I tackled that project this winter and I'm still switching stuff around and replacing. Is that I big giant window back there too? Lovely!
