Happy Monday! First, I'm linking up with Latoya from Flying Into First!
This week, we are sharing about two of our bloggy friends! I am excited to share about two of my Best Bloggy Buddies, although it was super hard to choose! I have made so many friends, so I want to talk about two that I haven't mentioned recently on my blog...
My next BBB I want you to get to know is Theresa at Pinkadots Elementary!
20 Weeks of Language Arts Weekly Review! I used it for test prep and it was perfect!
New Year, New Gear! I wanted to take the time to link up now, and you should, too! :)
I am also going to be a linky junkie and add another one of my BBBs' linky parties- Sabra from Teaching With a Touch of Twang. :)
My kids have FIVE composition notebooks in their desk. Yes, you read that right- five. I do interactive notes for Science and Social Studies, so they have one for each of those subjects. I also require one for our Mentor Sentences. They have one for Writing, of course. And last, they have one for Math. I have used one for Reading mini-lessons and responses before but prefer to use a folder with loose paper instead because then I'm not lugging journals home to grade responses.
A big part of interactive note-taking is color coding- and crayons are RIDICULOUS to try to write normally with, so I make mine use colored pencils...which also leads to requiring them to have a hand-held sharpener.
We are not taking a million trips to the pencil sharpener!! :)
I love to have my students use these yellow legal pads to write their rough drafts! You can see my reasons here and here!
What supplies do you think are essential for the new year? Link up with Pinkadots Elementary and let us know! And what are the Must-Haves for your classroom- like, you couldn't live without them?? Link up with Teaching With a Touch of Twang and share!
